Plums

The plum is a stone fruit, closely related to the peach, cherry, and almond. Over 2,000 varieties of plums exist worldwide and come in a range of different colors. The skins can be red, purple, blue-black, green, or yellow and the flesh can be either yellow, green, red, pink, or orange. When dried, plums are known as prunes. Plums are a good source of fiber, vitamin A, and vitamin K, and a very good source of vitamin C. Vitamin C is a natural antioxidant that helps build healthy tissues, control infections, and maintain healthy bones, teeth, and blood vessels. (See more plum nutrition facts on Self.com.)

Ripen plums on the counter first, then store in the fridge and use promptly!
