Kiwi Berries

The kiwi berry is an edible, grape-sized fruit similar to a kiwi in taste and appearance. However, instead of a fuzzy brown skin, kiwi berries generally have either a green or purple smooth skin. They are often sweeter than kiwis and can be eaten unpeeled. (Read more on Wikipedia.)

Kiwi berries are considered a superfruit! Like all fruits, they are a great source of vitamin C, a natural antioxidant that helps control infections, as well as maintain healthy bones, teeth, and blood vessels. Also an excellent source of fiber, calcium and Vitamin A. It possesses anticancer, antiallergenic and anti-inflammatory properties.

Kiwi berries will ripen at room temperature. They are good to eat when their skin turns darker green, becomes wrinkly, and they will be softer when you squeeze it. To speed up ripening process, place in a paper bag at room temperature. To slow down ripening process, place in a cold fridge.
