Chestnut mushrooms grow in clusters and have an orange/brown color speckled with white flakes. They’re also known as Cinnamon Caps, but don’t let that name fool you. Their flavor profile is earthy and nutty, with a robust aroma and crunchy texture.
Prepackaged mushrooms can be stored, unopened, in the refrigerator for about one week. Once opened, mushrooms should be moved to a paper bag and refrigerated.
