Bring slightly salted water to boil in medium pot.
Peel potatoes or leave skins on, and cut into 1/2-inch chunks. Roughly chop broccoli into small chunks. Boil potatoes and broccoli together for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Drain potatoes and broccoli in colander or sieve, return to pot and add butter, cream, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Using electric mixer or potato masher, blend ingredients until smooth.
Add asiago cheese. Season to taste, and serve warm.
