Crispy Oyster Mushrooms


  • 10 oz fresh oyster mushrooms
  • 2 egg whites, stirred
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/4 cup plain flour
  • 1/2 cup corn flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • enough oil for deep frying
  • garlic salt


Wash mushrooms gently, remove the stem and cut lengthwise. Dip mushrooms in egg whites, drain.In a small bowl, mix salt, flour, corn flour and baking powder. Put mushrooms in flour mixture, make sure all are fully coated. Heat oil in frying pan and deep fry mushrooms until crisp.Remove from heat and drain over kitchen towel, let cool. Sprinkle with garlic salt and toss gently.Keep in airtight container.
