Grilled Garlic Scapes

  • 8 oz local organic garlic scapes
  • 1 Tbsp or so olive oil
  • Flaky sea salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
  • Lemon (optional)


Heat grill to medium high.

Wash and dry the garlic scapes. Trim the ends but leaves the scapes whole. Place in bowl and massage with olive oil until uniformly moistened. Place mound of garlic scapes on hot grill, letting them char. Toss around as needed until they're bright green and uniformly charred on the exterior with the interior softened through.

Toss with salt and pepper and serve! A squeeze of lemon can be nice too.
