Peel the carrots, and either: cut them in half and cut each half into matchsticks, or cut into thin coins.
Melt the butter over medium heat in a large skillet, add the sugar and cook until it melts.
Add the carrots and toss to coat.
Partially cover the pan, and cook for about 3 minutes or until the carrots are tender.
Season with salt and pepper and toss to coat again. Easy!
