Rinse your broccoli well, and break into large florets. Cut off the stem and peel off any thick skin, quarter or halve the stem lengthwise. If you have a steamer, bring 1 inch of water to a boil in the bottom of it, add broccoli and cover. If you don't have a steamer, just put your broccoli directly into 1 inch of boiling water in a saucepan and cover. Reduce heat to medium and cook for 5-6 minutes, or until you can pierce the broccoli with a fork. (Don't let it overcook, your broccoli will become mush quickly.) Put in a serving dish and dress to taste with: butter, olive oil, flax seed oil, mayonnaise, lemon zest or juice, balsamic vinegar, toasted almonds, or sesame seeds.
